Ringside at UFC:
what it is and how the rows
by the cage differ from a stand

Ringside at UFC is the seating on the arena floor around the octagon, the first ten rows from the cage. Rows 1-5 sit right at the barrier, where you hear the strikes and the corners' instructions. Rows 6-10 are a little further back, but the whole octagon is in view. The stands rise above the floor and show the fight from above, as on the broadcast, and a good stand with a direct view gives you more than a poor seat at the side of the cage.

How the Arena Works
01

What Ringside is

Ringside is the seating on the arena floor around the octagon. The name comes from boxing, where the seats by the ring were called exactly that, and in the UFC it stuck to the first rows by the cage. On fight night the arena floor is covered, rows of seats are set up on all four sides of the octagon, and the first ten rows are what people call Ringside. Beyond them the stands begin: they rise above the floor and look down at the cage.

A row here means a row of seats counted from the cage: row 1 sits right against the barrier, behind the corners and the judges, while row 10 is separated from the octagon by nine rows of seated people. The difference between them is bigger than a seating chart suggests.

02

Rows 1-5: right by the cage

In the first five rows you do not so much watch the fight as hear it. From this distance you hear the strikes, the fighters breathing and the corners' instructions between rounds. The fighters walk out to the cage past these rows and walk back through them after the fight. It is the closest seat to the octagon that exists for spectators: only the judges, the commission and the fighters' teams sit closer.

There is one thing worth knowing in advance. The cage stands on a raised platform, and from row 1 the action at the far fence is partly hidden by the barrier and by the fighters' bodies when they work against the fence on your side. That is why many experienced spectators find rows 2-5 more comfortable than the first: the same sound, the same closeness, a slightly higher angle of view.

03

Rows 6-10: the whole octagon in view

From the sixth to the tenth row you are still on the arena floor and still in the Ringside zone, but the octagon is visible as a whole: the ground game, the work against the fence on any side, the movement across the cage. You still hear the strikes; the corners' instructions are gone. For a spectator who wants to understand the fight rather than only feel it, this is often the best balance of closeness and view.

Rows 6-10 are priced noticeably below the first five. On an event page we list them as a separate category because it really is a different evening.

04

Stands with a direct view

The stands are the arena sections that rise above the floor. From there you see the octagon from above, and it is the only angle where nothing blocks the fight: no barrier, no backs in the row in front. On the broadcast you see exactly this picture.

Not every stand is equal. Arenas have sections to the side of the cage, behind pillars and under screens, from which half the octagon is out of sight. We take only sections with a direct view: the lower tier facing the long sides of the cage, where the seat looks at the centre of the octagon. If the evening matters more than the distance to the fence, a lower stand with a direct view gives you more than a tenth-row seat at the side of the cage.

05

A separate entrance and why we confirm a row, not a seat

At most events Ringside guests do not come in through the general gates but through a separate passage onto the arena floor. Where it is and when it opens depends on the arena: at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi and at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles it is set up differently. We explain the route before the evening, not on the day of the event.

We work with categories and rows, not with specific seat numbers. The reason is simple: the arena and the promoter finalise the floor seating in the last days before the event, and a seller who tells you the seat number in row three a month ahead is promising something they do not yet know themselves. The category and the row range are confirmed at booking; the section and the row are fixed when the arena releases the seating.

06

Numbered events and Fight Nights

A numbered event (UFC 333, UFC 334) is a night with title fights, a big arena and the most expensive Ringside. A Fight Night is an event without a number, more often at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas or at smaller arenas, with lower-ranked bouts and a different price range. Ringside exists at both formats, but at a Fight Night the room is more compact, and the gap between row 3 and a stand is smaller than at a numbered event in an 18,000-seat arena.

We quote the Ringside price range on the event page when one is open, and in the conversation for the specific date for the rest of the calendar.

How to choose a seat at UFC

  • You want to hear the fight and see the fighters at arm's length: Ringside, rows 1-5, ideally the second to the fifth.
  • You want to see the whole octagon while staying on the arena floor: Ringside, rows 6-10.
  • You want a clean view with no backs or barrier, an evening with company, a more sensible budget: a lower stand with a direct view.
  • The main event is a title fight and it is your first event: do not save on closeness, these fighters may never share a night like this again.

We arrange UFC tickets for the stands and Ringside through the UFC hub: the upcoming events, the categories and the price range are there. Name the event, the number of guests and what matters more, the sound or the view, and your concierge confirms which rows are open for that date.

frequently asked questions

Ringside at UFC: frequently asked questions

Short answers to the questions LuxTicket clients ask before choosing a seat at a UFC event. Which rows are open on a specific night depends on the arena and the promoter and is confirmed by your concierge before payment.

What is Ringside at UFC

The seating on the arena floor around the octagon, the first ten rows from the cage. The name comes from boxing, where the seats by the ring were called that. Beyond the tenth row the stands begin.

How do rows 1-5 differ from rows 6-10

By the distance to the cage and by what you hear. In rows 1-5 you hear the strikes and the corners' instructions, and the fighters walk past you to the cage. In rows 6-10 you hear the strikes, but the octagon is in full view and nothing hides the far fence.

Is the first row the best

Not always. The cage stands on a raised platform, and from row 1 the work at the near fence is partly hidden by the barrier and by the fighters themselves. Rows 2-5 give the same sound and closeness with a slightly more comfortable angle of view.

What do you see from a stand

The whole octagon from above, as on the broadcast, with no backs or barrier in the way. The section matters: we take only stands with a direct view of the centre of the cage, not those at the side behind a pillar or a screen.

Can I choose a specific seat

No. The arena and the promoter finalise the floor seating in the last days before the event. We confirm the category and the row range at booking; the section and the row are fixed when the arena releases the seating.

How can I check a ticket reseller before buying

Start with the company register. Companies House is open, free and needs no registration: by company number it shows the status, the date of incorporation and the registered address. Lux Ticket Limited is No. 10820777, registered in 2017 at 1 Giltspur Street, London. Then look at independent reviews with dates, such as Trustpilot, and at how clearly the terms of the order are explained.

What does LuxTicket guarantee at UFC

Entry to the event in the category you paid for. Lux Ticket Limited (No. 10820777) considers the job done when you are in your seat and the first fight has started, and one concierge handles the order from the first message to fight night. Since 2017 there has not been a single case of a client paying and not getting in. A refund is our last resort: if entry still fails on our side, you get the full amount back.
